Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), the largest Islamic Bank in the UAE, once again excelled at the Banker Middle East Industry Awards, receiving two renowned accolades at one of the industry’s most distinguished events. The awards ceremony was held yesterday at the Ritz-Carlton DIFC in Dubai.
The Bank was crowned with Best Islamic Bank for the fifth year in a row, in addition to the Best Investment Islamic Bank award. Dr. Adnan Chilwan, Group CEO of DIB, was further acknowledged in the Leadership Excellence Award category.
“We are proud yet humbled to have been honored with such prestigious accolades.” Dr. Adnan Chilwan, Group CEO, DIB commented upon receiving the awards. “Awards like these are a clear recognition of the commitment put in by the team to make the bank what it is today. For the last seven years, we have been growing at a pace well beyond the market average setting a new performance benchmark. What is important for us as a next step is to create opportunities that should drive the Islamic banking concept forward not just in UAE, but across the globe. So hopefully, these awards signal a start of more to come.”
Dr. Chilwan added: “I’m also incredibly grateful to have been bestowed with the Leadership Excellence Award. It is a huge recognition of our efforts and I aim to continue on my personal journey whilst working collectively with those around me to further the growth and progress of Islamic finance as it transforms into a global norm.”

These included the Best Retail Customer Service, Best Social Media Customer Service, Best Islamic Retail Banking Services UAE, Best Islamic Corporate Banking Services, Best Home Finance Product, Corporate Deal of The Year and Best Banking Services UAE.
