The Emiratisation efforts of Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) have been commended at Careers UAE 2013, the leading recruitment, training and education exhibition, which was held at Dubai World Trade Centre from April 30 to May 2. The exhibition was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.

DIB’s participation at the annual event has become a key component of its larger Emiratisation strategy, giving the bank an opportunity to meet and interact with the very best Emirati job candidates from across the country.

This year’s event was particularly special for the bank as The Private Office of His Highness Sheikh Majid Bin Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum honoured DIB during a special ceremony held on May 1 for its role as a strategic partner of the “Majid Bin Mohammed UAE Nationals Training Initiative.” In 2012, the two organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding to train 40 male and female UAE Nationals with the theoretical skills and practical training needed to excel in the fast-growing Islamic finance industry.

“Supporting the professional development of UAE nationals is a strategic priority at DIB. Careers UAE has been a great showcase for what DIB can offer talented young Emiratis and we met and accepted applications from over 1748 job seekers looking for a career in the Islamic banking industry.,” said Obaid Al Shamsi, Chief of Human Resources, Dubai Islamic Bank. “We would also like to take this opportunity to thank The Private Office of His Highness Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid AlMaktoum for this prestigious honour and look forward to strengthening our relationship in the future.”

DIB has achieved 100% Emiratisation at branch manager’s level and, across the organisation, the figure stands at 46%.
