What is Mobile Banking?
Mobile Banking is a service that allows you to do banking transactions on your mobile phone using the SMS facility.
How does the Mobile Banking service work?
Mobile Banking works on the 'Text Messaging Facility' also called the SMS that is available on mobile phones. This facility allows you to send a short text message from your mobile phone instead of making a phone call.
All you need to do is type out a short text message on your mobile phone and send it out to 4222.The response is sent to you as an SMS message, all in the matter of a few seconds.
This message travels from your mobile phone to the SMS Centre of the Cellular Service Provider, and from there it travels to the Bank's systems. The information is retrieved and sent back to your mobile phone via the SMS Centre, all in a matter of a few seconds.
Do I have a choice of language?
Yes, you have a choice of 2 languages - Arabic OR English which must be specified at the time of account opening. Should you wish to change your profile preferred language, please visit any of our branches.
Who can apply for this service?
Any retail Current or Savings account holder of Dubai Islamic Bank can apply for this service. If you also hold a Credit/ Charge card in addition to a Current/ Savings account, you will also receive Push alerts for transaction carried out using your Credit/ Charge card.
Where do I text my account related inquiries
You can send your text message to 4222. For easy reference, it is advisable that you add this short code to your contact list.
Can I cancel my subscription any time?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time by visiting any of our branches.
How soon will I receive my alerts?
Your alerts are sent real-time. You will immediately receive a response on your mobile right after you request for an activity or after a transaction takes place. Delays may occur if the network of your mobile service provider is being heavily used.
What if I forget my SMS PIN?
If you forget your SMS PIN, you will have to contact our Call Center to reset your SMS PIN.
I hold only a credit card with Dubai Islamic Bank. Can I apply for the Mobile Banking facility?
As of now, customers holding only a credit card with Dubai Islamic Bank cannot apply for Mobile Banking. However, customers holding a current/ savings account and a credit card will also receive alerts for transactions carried out using the credit card.
Would I receive alerts if I am traveling outside the UAE?
You need to ensure that you have subscribed for international roaming facility on your mobile phone connection.
Are there any charges for this facility?
There is a nominal monthly fee of AED 5 for Al Islami SMS Banking service. There is no cap on the maximum number of SMS alerts you can receive or request through the Mobile Banking. VIP customers of DIB will not be charged for this service.
What is the payments facility?
Users registered for Al Islami SMS Banking can now make inquiries & payments over SMS for the following Etisalat and Salik services:
Wasel Recharge
Wasel Renewal
GSM
Fixed Line (Land Line)
Dial up Internet
Al Shamil (Broadband Internet)
Evision (Cable TV)
Salik Recharge
How does payments facility work?
To make an inquiry, user has to send an SMS in the following format:
Etisalat: SMS PIN #Service Code#Mobile Number
Salik: SMS PIN #Service Code#Salik PIN#Salik account
And to make a payment, user has to send an SMS in the following format:
Etisalat: SMS PIN #Service Code#Mobile Number#amount
Salik: SMS PIN #Service Code#Salik PIN#Salik account#amount
Where:
SMS PIN is the 4 digit SMS PIN Code
"Service Code" is the alpha or numeric service code.
"Mobile Number" is the 10 digit mobile number (including 050 or 056)
"Salik PIN" is Salik account PIN which given by RTA
"Salik account" is Salik account number which given by RTA
"Amount" is the amount to be paid
For example, to make a Wasel recharge payment of AED 30 to mobile number 0501234567, the SMS would be: 1234#WASEL#0501234567#30
You will receive a confirmation message to your request instantly.
What are the service codes for the various Etisalat/Salik services?
Mobile number of the user must be registered in Al Islami Mobile prior to using the service & user must have an SMS PIN in order to make bill payments through Mobile Banking.
If you have not confirmed your SMS PIN number earlier, you can chose an SMS PIN and send it to 4222 as per the format (SMS pin#PIN).
Minimum payment is AED 30 and maximum is AED 2,000 (in multiples of AED 10) for Etisalat .
Minimum payment is AED 50 and maximum is AED 2,000 (in multiples of AED 50) for Salik recharge .
Payments & inquiries can be done for both the 050 and 056 mobile number series of Etisalat.
For those who have not yet registered for Al Islami SMS Banking, you can register at any DIB Branch, ATM, Call Center or through Al Islami Online Banking.
